Residential Conveyancing Legal Assistant

This well-established, boutique law firm are seeking a full time and permanent Residential Conveyancing Assistant to provide support to the Fee Earners on a mixed caseload of property files including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, shared equity/shared ownership, new homes and part exchange.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting fee earners with a variety of property matters
  • Assisting with drafting the relevant legal documentation to include Contracts and Transfers
  • Opening, closing and archiving files
  • Drafting contract packs and client care letters
  • Dealing with ID/AML procedures and requirements
  • Working directly with clients to ensure a seamless service
  • Responding to Requisitions raised by the Land Registry
  • Ordering property searches
  • Send title documents to lenders and clients Completing SDLT returns and other online form filing
  • Assisting the property department generally

Desired Skills and Experience

  • At least 1 year Legal Secretary/Assistant experience within a Residential Property department in a law firm
  • Strong and efficient secretarial and admin skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Fast, accurate typing ability, ideally using digital audio systems
  • Experience of using case management system desirable but not essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Very well organised
  • Friendly & professional attitude
  • IT literate – Microsoft Word / Excel / Outlook / Digital Audio software / Case Management
