A specialist Family Law firm are seeking an experienced Paralegal to work on a busy caseload. The firm are an Alternative Business Structure who offer fixed fee services relating to private family matters.
This role will be to manage your own busy caseload load by providing support and an efficient paralegal service within the company.
Upon completion of a probation period, the firm are offering a Training Contract for the right candidate.
The caseload consists of:
Divorce and Finance
Child Contact Disputes & Children’s Private Law Proceedings
International Child Abduction
Parental Alienation
Grandparents Rights
Domestic Abuse
Children’s Care Proceedings, Special Guardianship and Care Orders
Duties will include:
Maintenance of comprehensive and accurate client admin files.
Support fee earners in marketing activities.
Attending to clients face to face and assisting via telephone and email.
Attending court hearings.
Preparation/updating of trial bundles.
Drafting and preparation of documents such as Form E’s, Form C100’s, Decree Nisi, Decree Absolute, Divorce petitions, Separation agreements, Cohabitation agreements, Pre-nuptial agreements.
Instructing counsel.
Coordinating billing for the team of lawyers.
Managing own diary of appointments and scheduling day to day workflow.
General file related administration.
Desired skills and experience:
Experience within family law / child law essential.
LLB Law Degree or GDL
LPC or BPTC are desirable
Detail orientated with excellent client care skills.
Experience of using case management system.
IT literate – Microsoft Word / Excel / Outlook / Digital Audio software / Case Management.
