Legal 500 law firm with offices in Surrey and London firm are seeking to appoint an experienced property secretary with the Residential Property Department.
The chosen candidate will be supporting fee earners within the Residential Property Department handling residential property and high value matters, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchase, equity release, shared ownership, re mortgages and buy to let.
Duties will include:
Opening files and new matters on Case Management system
Preparing client care letters and service plans
Audio typing from dictation when needed
Preparing and drafting correspondence and precedent documents for fee earners (from PLC and the firm’s own library of precedents)
Submitting searches and preparing draft reports on results and title documents
Carrying out searches (bankruptcy and priority)
Extensive use of the Land Registry portal
Preparing completion statements and invoices
Drafting and submitting Land Registry applications and dealing with completions and post completions formalities
Liaising with clients and other parties to keep files ‘ticking over’ for fee earners
Audio typing from digital dictation system
Daily use of outlook for diaries, booking client and departmental meetings
Desired skills and experience:
Legal Secretarial/Assistant experience within Residential Property is essential
Strong and efficient secretarial/legal admin skills
High level of attention to detail
Audio typing ability using digital dictation systems
Experience of using case management system
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Very well organised
Friendly & professional attitude
IT literate – Microsoft Word / Excel / Outlook/ Digital Audio software
