We have had an opportunity come up with a client based in Portsmouth for an in-house Legal Counsel to join their Compliance department.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing legal support and advice while dealing with legislative updates, research and compliance matters.
  • Working with the General Counsels to develop and roll out new template agreements.
  • Providing legal advice to a wide range of customers including Stakeholders, Supplies and funders regarding legal queries effectively.
  • Working alongside the Legal Counsels to create new template agreements, policies and legal procedures. Helping to ensure all legal processes procedures are followed up and dealt with.
  • Confidently able to assist with date protection queries whilst liaising with the current incumbent DPO.
  • Assisting the General Counsel with a variety of agreements. From tender and bid stages through to the negotiation stage and contract execution.
  • Able to advise throughout the life of a contract.
  • Providing support to the paralegals/ Legal Counsels when required.
  • Supporting the team and advising based on the relation to the applications of FCA legal and regulatory obligations.

Desired skills:

  • Legal qualifications NQ-5 Years PQE.
  • Corporate/ Commercial experience is essential
  • Self-motivated and enthusiasm to succeed.
  • Strong legal drafting and legal research
  • Good IT and organisational skills
