An opportunity has arisen with a well-established, legal 200 practice for an experienced Compliance Assistant to join the firm to assist the Compliance Partner, Heads of Department and the Fee Earners.
Duties:
Assisting the Compliance Partner, Head of Departments and other Partners with the management of their departments and implementation and development of compliance practices and procedures within the firm.
Coordination of file reviews, record results, chase and check corrective actions.
Helping fee-earners with compliance queries.
Preparation of regular and ad hoc reports.
Support data protection practices (GDPR), subject access requests and breaches.
Helping the Head of Departments and Fee Earners comply with policies and in the transfer of leavers files.
Encourage the prompt return of client money and prevent surplus balances.
Monitor and report on the recording and discharge of undertakings
Maintain the firms Lexcel, CQS, WIQS (and any other) accreditations.
Review policies to identify any gaps in compliance with legislation and ensuring various compliance registers are up to date.
Ideal Qualities:
The ideal candidate will have at least 12 months recent experience of working in a compliance role.
High level of commercial awareness with strong attention to detail
Excel, Word and Outlook literate.
Conscientious, hardworking, with developed critical thinking abilities and excellent communication, organisation and analytical skills.
Ability to work to strict deadlines, targets and client protocols while maintaining high standards in terms of accuracy and quality.
