Private Family Solicitor

An exciting opportunity based in the Southampton area working for a Leading Law firm with an excellent reputation across the South Coast. They are looking for an enthusiastic Private Family Solicitor to join their team.

This role is based in a very busy office in a great location, as a result client following isn’t essential.

The role will involve advising clients on all aspects of Family Law work including Divorce, Financial Settlement, Child Arrangements, Domestic Abuse, Co-habitation, Pre & Post-Nuptial Agreements, Separation Agreements and Civil Partnerships.

Duties will include:

• Managing own caseload
• Advising on a variety of privately funded family matters
• Develop existing caseload in divorce, finance and private children matters
• Drafting legal documentation to include Cohabitation Agreements and Prenuptial Agreements
• Drafting various Court Applications
• Be actively involved in marketing and business development activities

The successful candidate will:

• Have good academics – Degree/LPC/Training Contract

• Have qualified experience within a family department in a reputable law firm

• Offer sound legal advice to a diverse client base
• Maintain your continuing professional development requirements
• Be self-motivated with a drive to develop the team
• Work in a collaborative manner within the team and wider firm
• Have a positive approach and strong work ethic

Desired skills:

Good communication skills are essential, and candidates will be required to communicate regularly with clients for instructions and to give advice. Technical knowledge of Family Law is crucial. The ideal candidate will preferably have experience in advocacy and will be able to deal with their own case load.
