Dispute Resolution / Contentious Probate Solicitor

This multi accredited firm are currently seeking a capable Contentious Wills, Trusts and Probate Solicitor to join their busy and profitable team, proactively continuing to develop the growing department. This is a unique opportunity to join this team.

Applicants will have strong experience dealing with private client matters across the board. The chosen candidate must have been running a caseload independently and be involved in networking and business development.

Areas of focus will include but are not limited to:

  • Validity of Wills
  • Issues Arising During the Administration of an Estate
  • Construction & Interpretation of Wills
  • Claims for Reasonable Financial Provision from a Deceased Person`s Estate
  • The Protection of Elderly & Infirm Persons


Ideally candidates will have the ACTAPS qualification, or be working towards these. This is by no means essential but highly desirable and support will be given to those seeking to pursue this.

Duties will include:

  • Independently managing own varied caseload of mixed contentious wills, trusts and probate matters
  • Promoting a compassionate and sensitive disposition and client experience when dealing with the elderly or incapacitated.
  • Proactively networking and marketing within the team to generate new business and reputation.
  • Attending clients in their own environment as required.
  • Responsibility for mentoring and assisting more junior team members.
  • Maintaining good billings records within the team.


The ideal candidate will need to:

  • Display a sound knowledge of and have experience in contentious probate work
  • Have a minimum of 1 year PQE
  • Seek to achieve targets set
  • Develop and maintain a client/referrer base.
  • Appreciate and identify opportunities to refer work to other departments.
  • Recognise the importance of practice development and willingness to become involved.
