A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Legal Assistant to join our clients Criminal Defence team. This full-time role is based in Portsmouth and offers a chance to work closely with experienced solicitors, providing essential support and gaining invaluable experience in the legal field.
Key Responsibilities:
Working alongside the solicitors, assisting with various tasks including client liaison, document drafting, and case preparation.
Handling telephone and email enquiries.
Drafting documents, briefing counsels and taking witness statements under the guidance of senior team members.
Opening and closing files.
Preparing correspondence and documents.
Digital dictation.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Legal Secretary/ Legal Assistant experience preferably within the criminal defence department before. However, candidates with other legal experience will be considered.
Excellent IT skills, proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
What they offer:
Full time in the office – Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm.
Salary depending on experience up to £25,000 - £27,000
25 days holiday plus bank holiday.
