A well-established, multi branch law firm are currently looking to recruit a Legal Cashier to join the finance team, working alongside the Accounts Manager to provide an efficient financial service to internal fee earners and clients alike.
Responsibilities:
Analysing Client account ledgers, fees and costs
Maintain Bankline CHAPS/Faster Payments templates for all payees
Handle all property transactions – checking of completion statements, keying of payments onto Bankline
Liaising with Fee earners to clear all applicable balances
Maintaining master spreadsheet showing all client balances
Reporting balances to Finance Manager
Contributing to monthly financial bulletins
Posting of invoices and processing receipts
Bank reconciliation
Dealing without of date office cheques
Banking and processing of cheques into office/client accounts
Dealing with incoming and outgoing transfers
Dealing with petty cash, expenses and foreign drafts
Candidate Profile:
Institute of Legal Cashiers Diploma desirable
Solid working knowledge of The Solicitor’s Accounting Rules (SAR) essential
Full working knowledge of the conveyancing completions process essential
Experience working within a reputable legal firm
Experience in both office and client accounts, as well as multi-currency cashiering
Solid working knowledge of The Solicitor’s Accounting Rules (SAR) essential
Experience in using practice management systems
Good knowledge of Excel
Organised and accurate, with the ability to deal with a high volume of work autonomously
